Extended Family Executive Director Laure Clemons is scheduled to speak at the 2025 Alabama Juvenile Justice Summit: Building Stronger Futures Together, December 3-5, 2025 at Orange Beach, AL. During this summit, participants will explore evidence-based practices, policies, and program implementation strategies and share critical data, research, and outcomes affecting youth currently involved in the juvenile justice system.
As described on their website, “the Alabama Juvenile Justice Summit is a pivotal statewide forum dedicated to advancing the juvenile justice system in Alabama. This summit aims to unite stakeholders – policymakers, practitioners, educators, community leaders, and youth advocates – to foster a shared understanding of the challenges facing youth and the communities served by Alabama’s juvenile justice system.”
Topics at the summit look at the many challenges and opportunities related to serving youth in Alabama’s juvenile justice system, including Advancing Evidence-Based Practices for Community Engagement, Tackling Gang Involvement in Juvenile Justice, Reducing Recidivism: Understanding Youth Crime Trends in Alabama, and many more. The purpose of the summit is “to drive meaningful improvements in outcomes for youth by facilitating collaboration and innovation.”
