Tammy Pointer

Tammy Pointer is a resident of DeKalb County and lives with her youngest son. She is also the mother of three adult children and grandmother to three grandchildren. As a small business owner, Tammy has served communities throughout DeKalb and Marshall counties for the past seven years.

Drawing from her personal journey of addiction and recovery, Tammy is passionate about supporting female returning citizens (RCs) as they work toward achieving their goals and building stable, fulfilling lives. She believes strongly that “it’s never too late to start over,” a philosophy that guides her approach to helping others overcome challenges and embrace new opportunities.

Tammy is well suited for the role of Reentry Assistant because of her ability to connect with women who are navigating recovery, rebuilding their lives, and seeking a fresh start. In this role, she will assist returning citizens by connecting them with housing, employment, educational opportunities, and community resources, while also providing encouragement, advocacy, and ongoing support throughout their reentry journey.
