About Extended Family for Kids (EFK):

·       Evidence-based, 9-lesson Curriculum

·       For K-12 students with any loved one incarcerated or at-risk from some other family disruption

·       Teaches students to make healthy lifestyle choices to improve their quality of life

·       EFK Lessons build self-esteem, ease feelings of shame, ease isolation, decrease stress, address anger issues, and strengthen communication skills

 In this Training you will experience all 9 Lessons of Extended Family for Kids, hands on. With the EFK Curriculum Guide provided, you will be fully prepared to start your own EFK Program Group!

Date: Thursday, June 25, 2026, 9:00am – 4:00pm (breakfast and lunch provided)

Location: Jax State South Complex, 1701 Pelham Road South, Jacksonville, AL 36265

Cost: $70 per person – REGISTRATION REQUIRED by June 19, 2026

·       Requirements for Registration: To register, you must be an employee or volunteer with an organization that maintains good child practices. Past Trainees have included school counselors and administrators, SROs, law enforcement, juvenile probation officers, Children’s Advocacy Center, DHR, Big Brothers Big Sisters staff and volunteers, and multiple community resource providers.

REGISTRATION INCLUDES

·        Extended Family for Kids Curriculum Guide for each participant, with detailed program leader instructions, Lesson activities and handouts, evaluation Feedback Forms, sample letters to parents and guardians, and more. (Normally $200, this EFK Curriculum Guide is included in the $70 Registration Fee, due to ADECA Grant support!)

·        Participant Training supplies, including EFK info packet, handouts, and Training activity supplies

·        Extended Family for Kids Program Leader T-shirt

·        Custom Extended Family for Kids Leader Certificate of Completion

·        Training visual presentations via PowerPoint and other demonstrations

Teachers and Social Workers receive CEUs for attending EFK Leader Training
