Extended Family Leadership Academy (EFLA) provides valuable opportunities and resources to support high school students in their academic and professional growth. Seniors are encouraged to apply for EFLA scholarships and are also invited to participate in the “Business Attire Shopping Spree,” an annual event focused on teaching students how to “Dress for Success.”
During the event, male students selected suits, ties, dress shirts, shoes, and accessories such as belts and dress socks, while female students chose blazers, slacks, blouses, shoes, and jewelry. Seniors representing various high schools and juvenile diversion programs attended and were professionally fitted with the assistance of Extended Family staff. These new outfits not only prepare students for upcoming job interviews and professional settings, but also enhance their confidence by ensuring they have appropriate business attire when it is needed most.
The shopping spree also benefited local retailers, whose sales teams provided exceptional service by helping each student find attire that reflected their unique personality and style. This project was supported by subaward #2025-JF-C1-421 awarded by the Law Enforcement and Traffic Safety Division of ADECA and the U.S. Department of Justice.
