One of our favorite Extended Family Leadership Academy (EFLA) lessons is called Do You Know How to Get Free Money for College? This lesson teaches EFLA students to fill out scholarship applications by practicing on the Extended Family form. Students who complete the application need only submit a letter of recommendation from a school official and attach an acceptance letter from a technical program, two- or four-year college to be considered for an EFLA scholarship to the college or technical school of their choice.
This year, we are excited to have awarded scholarships to two seniors from our Extended Family Leadership Academy program at Gaston High School. Jacqueline Roland is an outstanding student who has participated in multiple EFLA events. The second scholarship recipient, Kaydence Baker, is driven and has proven that she has the determination to achieve the goals she has set for herself.
Our third scholarship recipient is Elizabeth Strickland, a graduate from Sand Rock High School. She has shown focus and persistence in school and in EFLA. We are so happy to be able to help her further her education to reach her goals. We are proud of these EFLA students and wish them great success in the next chapter of their lives.
The Extended Family Leadership Academy scholarship program is funded by private donations. For additional information about Extended Family Leadership Academy or our other programs, please visit our website, www.extendedfamilyhelp.org and follow us on Facebook, X, and Instagram @extendedfamilyhelp.
